Snob Scrilla – Heartbreak Scorsese

Dope video here.  Haven’t heard about this guy before.  The video is shot with mostly Nikon D90.  Which most of you know is a still camera that shoots video.  The results are really amazing.  The slow-mo with the TVs and sledges are shot with RED if you were wondering.  Tiffany’s new favorite artist…SNOB SCRILLA!

Radiohead – Weird Fishes/Arpeggi

Radiohead perform ”Weird Fishes/Arpeggi” live for their VH1 special.  The high quality video is really sharp and is very well done.  I first saw the “basement” on Conan O’Brien.  Fact: The first band to ever play on Late Night with Conan O’brien? Radiohead.  They went live again back in April of ‘08.

This time they went green and played from this venue.  The reason? Thom Yorke told Conan that if he flew the band over from London, it would be the equivalent of driving a car for a whole year.  In the spirit of going green, the band played live on Late Night via satellite.  It was a really great performance.  I will try to grab the video next time so you can check it.  Meantime, enjoy.

Wynton Marsalis Quartet – “Caravan”

A short explanation of jazz dialogue intros Miles Davis’s “Caravan.”  This is young and raw Wynton Marsalis.  It is probably around the time that he was most influential inside and out of jazz.  He made a couple false historical references in interviews and got buried for it.  Nevertheless, this cat can play.  I got a chance to meet him and his father (Ellis) when I studied music in college.  His father is wonderfully talented and equally nice.  Several months after meeting Ellis, I went to see a concert of his at ”Snug Harbor” (a awesome jazz venue in New Orleans).  He remembered me and the time we met and was truly gracious towards me during our short time together.  Enjoy “Caravan” – Wynton Marsalis Quartet.

Wynton Marsalis – Big Butter & Egg Man

Now she wants…a butter an egg man
From way out in the West
She wants somebody…who’s workin’ all day
So she’s got money…when she wants to play

Now pretty clothes…they’ll never be mine
But what she told me the other day
I hope she don’t change her mind
Now she wants…a butter an egg man
A great big butter and egg man
From way down South

U2 Live at Slane Castle (2001)

Dublin, Ireland - U2 Go Home was filmed on Saturday September 1, 2001, just moments after Ireland secured its place in the 2002 FIFA World Cup with the only goal of the match, scored by Irishman Jason McAteer. The match was shown to the football-crazy Irish crowd at Slane Castle prior to the concert, adding to the already festive air. Bono mentions the goal during “Beautiful Day”, singing “Beautiful goal” at the songs closing. Later, he kicks a blown up ball off the stage symbolizing the historic kick. During “New Year’s Day”, Bono drapes himself in the Irish flag, something he has seldom done — preferring the white peace flag — asking the crowd to imagine he’s Jason McAteer. The crowd was in a frenzy for most of the night, making this concert video one of the band’s most compelling live recordings.
